This vintage dresser was refinished with a modern painted design. The black & white paint has been antiqued slightly, resulting in a nice patina. The damask-type medallion was created and hand painted onto the piece, followed by a durable clear coat. After painting the design, the medallion appeared to be "smiling" back - hence the name "smiling" dresser! Some of the original pulls were missing, so vintage cut glass knobs have replaced the originals. The original wooden casters are still functional on the bottom of each turned leg. Two large drawers and two smaller top drawers provide plenty of storage. Use this piece as a conventional dresser, in the dining room as a buffet, or living room as a console or sofa table. 42” wide x 35 1/4” tall x 22” deep; on sale for $495 (was $695).
