This one of a kind table was created from a compilation of old wooden pieces - a table from a berry picking farm, part of an old tool bin, some old wood, and vintage storm window number tacks. The piece was designed to add style and function to your wine storage / entertaining area. Various wood tones and metal are mixed together to create this unique piece.
The top portion was originally part of an old tool bin. The bin was completely taken apart. Each piece was refinished separately, and reassembled to form this wine storage area with 18 bins. Each bin is large enough for 2 wine bottles side by side, plus one stacked on top, storing up to 54 wine bottles. The horizontal piece of beaded board keeps the shoulder of the wine bottles securely inside each bin. The bins are numbered using vintage round metal tacks, originally used to number storm windows. The tacks are likely circa 1950's and had never been used prior to installation on this table.
The table was sanded and refinished, with a painted lettered design on the flat surface. The design, inspired by estate vineyards, pays homage to wines made from the first growth ("premier cru") from a vineyard. The lettering is painted in antique metallic gold and creamy beige color. All surfaces have been coated with durable polyurethane.
A sturdy shelf has been installed across the bottom of the table - the shelf is made from old wood, reclaimed from a storage box found in the attic of a 100+ year old house. The wood forming the top of the wine storage bin is also the same wood, which has tons of character - knots and a very interesting grain pattern! Metal brackets (pewter toned) also add strength and character to the bottom of this table.
