Correspondence Vintage Door Chalkboard





For additional photos, see the link below. This unique chalkboard was created from a section of a vintage storm door. The opening originally held a removeable window, which could be interchanged with a screen window depending on the season. The door was cut & trimmed, and carefully sanded to achieve the current paint color - a vibrant cherry-red that is worn away a bit at the edges - revealing some raw wood and a darker color beneath. A black factory-made magnetic chalkboard has been installed into the opening. The chalkboard material used is porcelain coated steel - very durable (not chalkboard craft paint). Along the bottom edge, 6 vintage black porcelain doorknobs have been mounted to hold all your hangables (sturdy enough for coats & bags) - label each with the vintage label holder above it. A small clip is mounted on the right side of the frame for holding chalk; the clip was originally from under a church pew- to hold parishoners' hats during the church service. This is a great functional piece to add some vibrant color to your mudroom, entryway, kitchen, or other space! 60.75" wide x 30" tall; projects roughly 3.5" from the wall. Hangs using 2 pairs of French cleats - provided.
