This piece was created from a salvaged window sash. The window frame was carefully sanded to reveal the current color combination of olive green, cream/ivory, beige, and some raw wood. Beneath the glass, an antique map of Spain & Portugal is displayed. The map itself is an original, (not a present day reproduction) and was actually 2 pages from a world atlas. There is a seam running down the middle of the map, where the two pages originally joined. Along the top and bottom edge, there is a border of rustic burlap. Cities from Spain & Portugal have been painted onto the glass, including: Lisbon, Oporto, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Leon, and Valencia. The title of the map, "Spain and Portugal" is painted along the top, and "1892" is painted at the bottom. A great piece for the traveler, or lover of all things Spanish! 24" wide by 20" tall
