This unique coat rack was created from a section of a vintage paneled door. The door originally had a glass window, which was removed & replaced with a mirror - treated to acquire a patina. The original paint on the door was sanded to achieve an aged look. The original hole where locking hardware was attached still exists - upper left side; it has been covered with a vintage circular escutcheon plate. "Concierge" has been painted in black onto the wood. Two vintage glass doorknobs and one fancy vintage brass knob have been mounted to hold coats, purses, etc. Each is backed by a vintage escutcheon plate. Three key "hooks" have been fashioned from window sash catches, and are mounted along with vintage label holders for hanging keys. The mirror has been hand painted with the lettering "Hotel de Marseilles" "17 Rue Saint Laurent"; this lettering was chosen to evoke something that may have been found at an old hotel in the south of France. Saint Laurent is a real street in Marseilles, but 17 is a fictional address. Measures 30" wide, 41" tall; projects roughly 4" from the wall. Hangs using 2 keyhole slots routed into the back side.
