This unique coat or towel rack was created from a section of a cabinet door, with 2 recessed panels. The original paint finish was carefully sanded to reveal the current color combination of ivory, kelly green, pale yellow, with small amounts of raw wood and beige. Character is apparent in the finish - there are many cracks, and the outline of the old butterfly hinges remains on either side. "Monsieur" and "Mademoiselle" have been painted in dark brown, and a clear satin finish seals the piece. Salvaged metal lamp finials (3 for him, 6 for her) have been mounted across the bottom for hanging your coats, towels, clothes, etc. The finials are not all exactly the same, but have a similar finish and shape. See the link below for additional photos. This piece hangs using 2 French cleats (4 pieces total). Two cleats are mounted to the back, and 2 pieces are provided to mount to your wall studs- the cleats slide together to hold the piece. 10" tall x 79.75" wide.
