This special edition piece was created from a recessed panel section of a vintage door. Inspired by French country design, the piece is meant to evoke that French country feel in your home, while helping you organize everyday clutter.
The wood has been refinished with an antique-whitewash look with some gray and beige tones. Attached to the piece are 2 vintage bike baskets. These baskets were originally painted white, and connected to each other for hanging over the back wheel of a bike (see link to additional photos below). The 2 round metal circles welded to the front of each basket originally had red reflectors glued to them. They have been painted with "In" and "Out" for all your incoming & outgoing mail. The baskets have also been coated with clear finish for durability.
There are also 5 schoolhouse type vintage hooks mounted to the bottom for coats, aprons, and other hangables. Four smaller vintage hooks (possibly deck mount type nautical hooks?) are mounted to the center to hold your keys. All hardware is a gray-silver metal color.
The text, painted in a slate gray color, reads: Le Bureau de Poste (French), Post Office (English); Recu (French), Incoming (English); Sortants (French), Outgoing (English); Clefs (French), Keys (English).
The piece mounts to your wall using 2 keyhole slots routed into the back of the frame, 32" apart. Drywall anchors and hardware are included.
Size: 26.75" tall x 44" wide; projects 8" from the wall. The baskets are roughly 5" deep x 11" wide at the bottom (smallest point), and 10" tall at the front. Pictures show 9" x 12" manilla envelopes in the baskets for a size reference.
This piece ships in 2 boxes; some assembly required. The baskets are removeable, and reattach with simple screw on hardware from the back side. Baskets will be shipped in a separate box from the main piece.
