This piece was created from a vintage window sash.  The frame was refinished with black paint, but evidence of patina is still present on the frame.  The background is an authentic burlap sack once used to transport coffee beans.  The sack has some printing on it in a peacock green color, and appears to be from Bolivia.  The original design, hand painted in black, was inspired by photos of Italian Coffee Shops.  In Italy, coffee shops are called "Bars".  The menu items painted on the window are typical coffee drinks served at Italian Bars.  The other lettering reads: Bar di Venezia, Caffe, Calle del dose, 27 (Italian).  In English: Bar of Venice, coffee, 27 Dose Lane (an address).  23.25" x 34"
