This piece was created from one half of a pair of vintage cabinet doors. Another similar piece is available that uses the other half of this pair. The wood frame has been refinished with dark stain. There is a scroll detail moulding at the top of the glass pane, which adds to the character of this piece. The original carved keyhole opening is also present on this piece. The background is a portion of a vintage flour sack - an oatmeal color with woven brown stripes. The original, hand painted lettered design was inspired by quality standards from the wine industry; an appellation is a rating given to a wine that meets a certain quality standard. "Old World" refers to wines from European countries (as opposed to New World wines - which would include wines from the Americas and Australia). A great piece to add vintage character to your kitchen or wine cellar! 19 1/8" wide by 34 1/2" tall.
