This piece was created from a vintage 2 pane window. The window was carefully sanded to achieve the current finish - some raw wood, white chipping paint, and small amounts of beige and creamy yellow paint also showing. The white paint has an alligator-like crackled appearance. A clear coat has been applied over the frame. The top pane is backed with a red & white stripe fabric. "Place de la Concorde - Bistro - dejuner ~ diner" has been hand painted onto the top pane. The Place de la Concorde is a large market square in Paris, France. Dejuner ~ Diner means "Lunch ~ Dinner." The lettering was meant to evoke a Bistro that might be found near the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France. The bottom pane has been fitted with a black magnetic chalkboard (see link below for more info on the chalkboard material). "plats du jour" has been painted in white onto the chalkboard; this means "daily specials" in French. A great piece to add function and French style to your kitchen or eating area! 28" wide x 58.25" tall; hangs using 2 keyhole slots routed into the back side of the frame.
